Cover Reveal!
Little Branch Creek Romances Get a Facelift!
With the Little Branch Creek Romance series, I ventured into designing my own book covers. Armed with only what I have learned from articles, surveys of readers, and my own personal taste of other book covers (especially genre-specific), I jumped into the water with no clue whether I’d sink or swim.
The response I received for Broke Down had me paddling around like a duck in water. Both readers and bookstore owners alike responded well. So with all the confidence of someone who doesn’t know what they don’t know, I created the cover for Back to Start. While the story itself was well-received, the cover was like a brand new pair of cement shoes. The cover did nothing to tie it to the series, nor did it grab anyone’s attention.
I knew I needed to change this big ole belly flop into a swan dive, but I felt tethered to the cover. I was afraid that changing it would harm the book's overall cross-platform promotion. Once I finally got over myself, I realized that fear was just as out of place as the cover.
With the help of my dear friend and design guru, Melanie Hooyenga (you should check out her books, too!), a new cover was created.
Some may think, mountains again? I say, yes! mountains again! Little Branch Creek is a small, albeit fictitious, Colorado mountain town, after all!
I hope you all enjoy the facelifts for this novella series! If you haven’t read it, or have only read one, make sure to get caught up before the next installment arrives! (A massive thank you to those who have been patiently awaiting their early release copies.)
Broke Down - Emma is fiery, driven, and focused on her career and her career only. Hudson may be a catch on paper, but the scars on his heart keep his true desires at bay. Will they be able to set aside their pride. . . and prejudice. . . to find the happiness and self-fulfillment they both deserve? (Sorry, no Mr. Darcy in this novella! But you can’t argue with Jane Austen for hitting the nail on the head with this trope!)
Back to Start - Morgan never wanted to return to Little Branch Creek, but the death of her beloved uncle has her racing back home. Jackson is even more arrogant and pig-headed than before. Though they said goodbye long ago, not even time can erase the love - and pain - of their high school days together. Can they forgive each other and themselves for the mistakes of youth? Or will they once again go their separate ways - this time forever?
Please note that these novellas are intended for mature audiences only.
